Thank you so much for visiting my web site. I am a third generation tailor with a long family history that dates back to the days when my grandparents came to this country from Italy. As time allows I will add to this page and perhaps with the help of folks who knew my family, I can acquire some old photographs to display. My grandfather was Vincent Gambino. He owned a tailor shop in Ellwood City, Pa. back in the 1940's-1950's. My grandmother was Erina DeFalco and their family also owned a tailor shop in Ellwood City. Their children (my Aunts & Uncles) carried on the family trade. Earnest and Albert, Sylvia, Virginia, Frances. and Elizabeth (my mother). She married my father, Nicholas Tolomeo in 1937.
I was born pretty much with a thimble on my finger and was blessed with my talents, this trade and my family. I will continue to carry on as long as I am able. I worked as a tailor for Joseph Horne Company from 1976 until 1995 which at that time was Lazarus. In 1997 after moving to Portersville, & sadly leaving many good friends, I opened my own business. I have had the pleasure over the years to meet a million wonderful customers with whom I wish I had more time to spend!
Currently I specialize in bridal & fine clothing, also servicing Rigby's Menswear in Zelienople, Pa. Given ample time, I also carefully restore heirloom gowns. Consultations are free of charge. All fittings are scheduled by appointment however, also having the gift shop allows folks to stop in & browse anytime. You will usually find refreshments!
You will find a couple articles I have written at www.pghwedding.com | Every bustle is unique to the bride!
